Like Job, our loss did not shrink our understanding of God — it grew it. Job could say, "My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you" (Job 42:5). We understood exactly what he meant.
That question planted the seed of a calling — though it took four years to fully come out of the grief and understand what God was asking of us. When clarity finally came, we understood: seek and save the lost, console their pain with the same consolation we had received, by creating content. Because that is where millions of young people are spending hours of their day: inside feeds built for retention, run by an algorithm with one purpose — keep them hooked, not to show them anything godly. The mission field moved. We followed it. And we were called to sow into it, so that it is not only worldly, even demonic, content that fills that space, but Spirit-filled content too — reaching people the church's walls were never built to reach.
The Lord made it unmistakably clear: this mission mattered more than building any business empire. So we closed the doors on our restaurants, sold everything we had built, and repaid every loan we owed. What was left is what has carried this ministry for two years.
Romaila and I have given those two years faithfully, one video at a time. After more than 2,500 videos, we are only now truly beginning to understand the potential of this work — and we refuse to let finances be the ceiling on what God can do through it. That is why we need partners to stand with us. Visual Word Media Ministries is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit — every cent you give goes into the teaching and the community growing around it.
The goal is the Gospel reaching the uttermost parts of the earth (Acts 1:8) — becoming, as Paul said, all things to all people, by all possible means, so that we might save some (1 Corinthians 9:22). Today that means Bible teaching built on real study — the original languages, the history, the context most people are never taught. And beyond what we create ourselves, we want to inspire, equip, and train the next generation of Christian content creators — so this work multiplies far beyond what any one family could build alone.
